Want to study abroad but can’t fit it into your semester?
There are many variables that may make it difficult to take part in a semester study abroad program. You may have a major that does not allow much flexibility, or you may worry that study abroad will delay your graduation. Summer abroad programs may be perfect for the student who cannot easily get away during the school year
Adelphi students can earn academic credit to satisfy major and general education requirements during summer. Students will be exposed to new cultures and gain greater perspectives during their time abroad. They will also meet students from various universities internationally and possibly have opportunities, to work on research or service projects as part of their programs.
All courses must be pre-approved in order for the credits to transfer to Adelphi requirements. Any program that students chooses will be paid outright to the international university or program the students are attending.
Located in Southern France, the birthplace of famous post-impressionist painter, Paul Cézanne. IAU’s Marchutz School of Fine Arts is dedicated to developing sight and skill in art and art appreciation.
One 6-credit, 6-week program: Art Criticism and Aesthetics and Painting and Drawing Studio classes
One 9-credit, 6-week program: same classes as the first option, but with an added elective
LdM is an international university that offers courses through its School of Creative Arts and School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Study everything from restoration and painting to Italian renaissance and medieval art.
Florence and Southern Italy Restoration Workshop in Wood and Polychrome Sculpture: a 4-week program both on campus and in the field learning about restoration and conservation processes.
Two, 4-week summer sessions during June and July with various art history and art courses including ceramics, sketching, and oil painting
Located just south of Dublin proper, UCD has a Centre for Sports Studies that includes programs in Sport and Exercise Management and Health and Performance Science.
Summer (3-6 credits) – Sport and Exercise Summer Abroad Program (May 30– June 17)
Students can take a range of classes from Health, Fitness, and Nutrition to Digital Sports Marketing and Analytics. Additionally, there is a cross-training add-on for collegiate athletes looking to continue their fitness training while abroad.
Summer (3 Credits) – Sport Management and Culture: A European Perspective (July 8 – August 5)
The Stirling International Summer School incorporates excursions that complement the classroom learning. Students visits one of Scotland’s main sporting venues to help contextualize sports management. Past excursions have included visits to Hampden Park (home to Scottish football) and Murrayfiled (home to Scottish rugby)
Students take classes with local professors at the CIEE Study Center located in central Santo Domingo.
Summer (6-7 credits) – CIEE Summer Sport sand Society: Baseball in Context (June 12- July 22)
Students take two courses Ethical Issues in Sports Development and Cultural Studies of Caribbean Sport and a Communicative Spanish Class if students have not had any formal college Spanish language experience.
Students are placed in homestays to enhance the cultural experience.

Located just south of Dublin proper, UCD’s Lochlann Quinn School of Business has all of the resources necessary for any student studying abroad to gain a global perspective in the business world.
Summer Internship (3 credits) – Business Analytics or International Business Internship (8 weeks from mid-June-beginning of August 2017)
Students fine-tune communication skills and develop practical professional skills within a business environment in a professional internship in Dublin approximately 30 hours a week. Students earn 3 credits as they complete a 6-week internship with a final presentation of a research paper.
